I Guarantee It meme template

What it means

I Guarantee It is George Zimmer, the founder of Men's Wearhouse, from the suit retailer's long-running television commercials in which he looked into the camera, vouched for the quality of the product, and closed every ad with his trademark line, I guarantee it. The deep-voiced certainty became a meme format for promising outcomes with absolute confidence: the caption states what is inevitably coming, and Zimmer's furrowed, trustworthy face seals the contract. It is used for both sincere predictions and comic inevitabilities, like guaranteeing that your code will break in production, that the cat will sit on the keyboard, or that the group project will be carried by one person. The suit-and-gravitas packaging makes even absurd promises feel notarized.

When to use it

• Promising an inevitable outcome with total confidence
• Mock-formal guarantees of predictable disasters
• Vouching for something with commercial-ad gravitas
