Good Guy Greg meme template

What it means

Good Guy Greg is one of the classic advice animals, a photograph of a smiling, bearded young man with a joint in his mouth, adopted by Reddit and 4chan around 2010 as the internet's patron saint of small acts of decency. The format runs on two lines of everyday virtue: returns the dropped wallet with cash intact, lends you his charger without asking for it back, tells you there is toilet paper stuck to your shoe. Greg exists as the moral counterweight to Scumbag Steve, and the meme's lasting appeal is that it cataloged the tiny, unwritten courtesies that make society function, letting users celebrate anonymous kindness with a face that already looks grateful for nothing in return.

When to use it

• Celebrating small acts of everyday decency
• Describing the coworker or stranger who does the right thing
• Cataloging unwritten social courtesies as heroic acts
