Copyright & DMCA takedown
Last updated October 27, 2026
MemeSkill is a collection of meme templates that visitors can caption. Many memes come from films, photos and artwork that other people own. We respect copyright and remove content when a rights holder asks us to.
How to report a template
Email dmca@meme-skill.com with the details below. We act on complete requests and aim to remove the content within 48 hours.
- Your name, postal address, phone number and email address.
- A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The address (URL) of each page on MemeSkill that shows the content, for example https://meme-skill.com/templates/example.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
If you are not sure whether something is infringing, a plain email telling us which page to look at is still welcome. We may ask you for the details above before removing it.
What we do
- We remove the template page and delete its image files, so the image address stops working as well.
- We may tell the person who submitted the content that it was removed and, if they send a counter-notice, pass it to you.
- We record each request and how it was handled.
Counter-notice
If you believe content was removed by mistake or that you have the right to use it, email dmca@meme-skill.com with the removed page address, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live. We may restore the content after a reasonable waiting period unless the original claimant tells us they have started legal action.
Repeat infringers
We end access for anyone who is repeatedly found to be infringing other people’s copyright.
Misuse of this process
Knowingly sending a false takedown notice or counter-notice can make you legally responsible for damages. Please only send a notice if it is accurate.
Other reports
For content that is illegal or harmful for reasons other than copyright, email the same address and tell us which page you mean.
