Life... Finds a Way meme template

What it means

Life Finds a Way is Jeff Goldblum's Ian Malcolm in the 1993 film Jurassic Park, delivering the film's philosophical centerpiece: the scientists who cloned dinosaurs assumed control because they were all male, and Malcolm, with characteristic flair, explains that life, uh, finds a way. As a meme the line celebrates nature, systems, and people doing exactly what they were told not to do. The caption declares the restriction, and the template declares the inevitable workaround: the plant that grows through concrete, the cat that opens the supposedly cat-proof door, the user who finds the loophole in every policy. Goldblum's stammering certainty gives the observation its charm, half prophecy and half shrug.

When to use it

• Celebrating inevitable workarounds to restrictions
• Nature, pets, or users defeating the supposedly airtight plan
• Reacting to something doing exactly what it was told not to
