What it means
It's A Trap is Admiral Ackbar's horrified warning from the 1983 film Return of the Jedi, spoken the instant the Rebel fleet realizes the Imperial ambush at Endor has closed around them. The line became one of the earliest and most durable memes on the internet, used the moment any offer, situation, or apparently generous deal reveals its hidden teeth. The caption sets up the tempting scenario, and Ackbar delivers the alarm with the full authority of a fleet commander. From clickbait links to free trials that auto-renew, from group projects that promise equal work to sales that exclude everything in your cart, the template's job never changes: warn the crew before it is too late.
