What it means
Grandma Finds The Internet is a photograph of an elderly woman, glasses on and mouth open in pure delight, discovering the wonders of a laptop, an image that became a beloved advice-animal format in the early 2010s. The captions typically voice a sweet, slightly confused first-person discovery: commenting on a Facebook post meant for one person, thanking the kind young man at the Google, or announcing her presence in ALL CAPS with generous punctuation. Unlike most meme grandparents, she is never the butt of a mean joke; the humor is warm and comes from the genuine wonder of someone meeting the internet with fresh eyes, which is why the format has endured as a wholesome staple.
