Blank Nut Button meme template

What it means

Blank Nut Button is the stripped-down cousin of the Two Buttons format: a cartoon of a sweating man in a red shirt hovering his finger over two identical, unlabeled red buttons, gripping the desk with white-knuckled tension. Because the buttons are blank, the template leaves both choices entirely to the caption, which makes it endlessly reusable for any forced decision. The humor comes from the sweat, the choice is presented as trivial, but the character's agony suggests the two options are incompatible with his soul. It is used for dilemmas both real, like sleep versus one more episode, and absurd, like which of two equally cursed options to inflict on the group chat.

When to use it

• Agonizing over a choice between two tempting options
• Dramatizing trivial dilemmas with maximum sweat
• Forcing a decision between two incompatible choices
